Each day dawns with a set of new challenges and opportunities. We, at Sanghamitra believe that each child is a storehouse of immense potential and talent. To unleash this energy and channel it in the right direction, we organize various co-curricular & extra-curricular activities throughout the year.
School Assemblies:An assembly aims to create, nurture and sustain a sense of community. It serves to develop a positive culture that affirms the school's identity and aspirations. As a result, the school lives in cohesive harmony and sustains the pursuit of excellence in all its forms. Each class in the school is assigned a day to conduct an assembly. They choose a theme which is normally value-based. The students plan news reading, general information, thought for the day, poetry and announcements. Not only is it a fun-filled learning experience but also a platform to make the students more confident, as they get the opportunity to be on stage.
Bulletin Boards:We have Bulletin Boards around the school and this is a place for our students to express themselves. Children put their ideas together and come up with eye-catching displays, proverbs, quotations, facts etc. The creativity that they exhibit either in words or in colours is exemplary. There is a lot of excitement when these boards are judged and awarded.
Festivals:A festival is a time that brings life to a state of exuberance and enthusiasm. Festivals are a part of our cultural life. They are celebrated to highlight an issue, an event, a season. They also convey an underlying moral message about our country, which, in spite of being diverse, stands as one; and the many festivals reflect its rich cultural past. To enable a sense of national integration, the school celebrates all the festivals with the children participating in them actively. Our school gets all bedecked and decorated in resplendent colours as we celebrate all festivals with equal zest and gusto and in the process, children learn a lot about the rich culture and tradition of our great country.
Art and Craft:Art and Craft may appear abstract but it’s one way expressing your inner self. To teach finer nuances and help children realize their artistic ambitions, the school engages art and craft workshops, project-works regularly and two integrated activity halls are exclusively dedicated for this purpose.
As often reiterated, Sanghamitra aims at the all-round development of its students. Sports occupy a prominent place amongst the many activities in the school program. We encourage our students to choose any sport that they are interested in.
Physical training is an essential part of our curriculum as it contributes not only to the growth and development of the child but also reinforces discipline, control and restraint.
At Sanghamitra, the all-round development of the child is paramount and hence the school is proactive in conducting various activities throughout the year. Our students are encouraged to not just conceptualize and organize events but also participate in them. This goes a long way in building their self-confidence, an attribute that will hold them in good stead.
Competitions:The school organizes various curricular & co-curricular competitions regularly to gear up the children to face the challenges of today's world. These competitions also help the children to identify their latent talents. Apart from the school, the parents also can encourage and nurture these dimensions of their children's personalities. By participating in these competitions, they learn to compete with a positive and healthy attitude. These competitions are meticulously planned at the beginning of the academic session. Keeping in mind the different kinds of talents that our children have, we have a host of creative competitions. To encourage mass participation, the teacher’s guide and instruct their children before an upcoming contest. Prizes are given out to the best from every section.
Houses:Sanghamitra believes in giving students the opportunity to voice their opinion. Hence powers are vested in the hands of the captains who represent the school, sports, etc. as the case maybe. All the students are grouped into four houses namely Shakti, Sahiti, Shanti and Pragathi. The colours of the four houses Red, Blue, Yellow and Green. The students strive hard to make their respective house win, be it any category, i.e., sports, cultural programs, quiz competitions, attendance, conduct or diligence. Each house is headed by the house captains and assisted by the vice-captains, who function under the guidance of the correspondent, headmistress and teachers. Various inter house competitions are organized to encourage competitive spirit in each child. It also inculcates a sense of responsibility and conscientiousness in the children which makes them more mature and decisive later in life.
Every parent nurture the dream of all-round development of his/her child. Parent–Teacher meetings (PTMs) play a crucial role in the achievement of this goal. Regular interactions and discussions between parents and teachers strengthen the bond between the child, parent, and the teacher. PTMs provide a friendly atmosphere for the progress of the child’s personality, where the teachers and the parents acknowledge the child’s aptitude and achievements. Such positive interactions yield rich dividends.
The school organises PTMs after every periodical assessment for better interaction between parents and teachers. Parents must attend PTMs regularly for a better and closer rapport with the school system and teachers, and to thoroughly scrutinise the academic performance of their child. Parents must ensure regularity, punctuality, and active participation of the child in school activities. We have also formulated a regulated school SMS system to enable quick communication with parents.
The schedule for the PTMs is informed by the head-mistress and respective class teacher. We will notify parents in advance, if any parent is unable to attend due to any reason, they must inform the class teacher. We request parents to adhere to the schedule for better and effective interactive sessions.
